Part of the permanent collection at M+ Museum, Hong Kong
I worked on a collaborative project at an urban research collective called urbz in Dharavi, Mumbai that specializes in participatory planning and design. They collaborate with residents of Dharavi – Asia’s largest informal settlement – to base their research about architecture, planning and policy making on the everyday experiences of local residents. I worked as a cinematographer and researcher on a documentary film titled Design Comes As We Build, which studied local building practices in Dharavi.
The film plays alongside handmade architectural models created by Dharavi’s artisans. It is part of the permanent collection at M+ Museum of Visual Culture, Kowloon, and is presently part of an exhibition titled Things, Spaces, Interactions.
